NACRA Sport cats
NACRA Sport Cats
Designed for ease of use. This generally means easy to rig, fuss-free sailing and with no daggerboards it's easy to leave the beach and return.
NACRA 20 pulverises yet another wave
we’ve been involved with a lot of platforms... from beach cats to full-on FORMULA machines...
Simply put, we like them fast! The faster the better. In our last racing season the Nacra 20 One Design holds the ‘club speed record’ with a 24.3 knots. Whilst none of our cats are slow, some are just faster than others. We do have a range of SPORT & RACE cats.
For the last couple of years, the Formula 16 Class has swelled in numbers. This is mainly due to the fact that they can be raced solo or with a crew - they’re multi-role capable a well as being extremely quick and easy to handle.
The current trend is towards bigger platforms probably because we now have more Europeans in our fleet than ever before! The penultimate beach cat to suit this is, the Nacra 20.
Larger platform have better weight carrying abilities while offering BIG boat speed numbers and generally, around the same prices as the high-tech F16’s.
The biggest class is the Sport Cats - those without dagger-boards like the brilliant new Nacra 500 which offers spinnaker thrills in a simple package.
But the Nacra 570 really stretches the performance envelope for boardless cats. This is the largest of the no-fuss beach cats. It’s got the straight line speed of the Formula boats
NACRA Race Cats
Designed for performance! This means maximum windward ability, tight pointing angles blazing tacking speeds and big boat speed numbers.
FORMULA 16 Cats
These are box-rule boats that don’t really have the right to perform the way they do! Sail it solo or crewed. 1, 2 or 3 sails. Lightweight, high-tech wonders.
MULTI 23
We’re still tuning up this platform but it is a great platform. So far we’ve had the mainhull clear in 14 knots apparent... NICE. New Code Zero coming. Stay tuned...
